Show me your “O” face! Project O details

Chef Dude from Project OFor those who are not familiar with the game, Project O has been classified as a simulation game and is in development for the Wii. Not much more is known besides that, but we did get some interesting tidbits. The latest issue of Famitsu had a two-page interview with game designer Norikazu Yasunaga and programming director Yoichi Kowaguchi.

Yasunaga described how he plans on making the world around the player seem more realistic. He gives an example of an NPC, or non playable character, who walks down a street and remembers that his girlfriend died there. He would remember the incident and react because of it. Also, each NPC will carry out their lives just like a real person would. For instance, each character will have a home to sleep in and a job to do. It sounds very similar in scope to what was promised by Peter Molyneux in the original Fable..

Unfortunately we still don’t know whether you will be a character living amongst these people or if it will be a “God” game similar to Populace.

More details will be revealed at the upcoming Tokyo Games Show (TGS). Also Project O has a tentative release schedule of 2008 in Japan, but a US version has yet to be announced.

Either way i’m really excited. There aren’t enough God games out there right now and I would be just as excited if not more for an original Adventure game.
