7 new songs added to the Guitar Hero III set list

Published by matthew at 1:57 pm under Wii

afi2.jpgThe songs just keep on coming! Last week, four new songs were revealed thanks to the crew at Score Hero. Today, Activision has officially revealed the four songs, along with seven more:

  • “Miss Murder” - AFI
  • “3’s and 7’s” - Queens of the Stone Age
  • “Raining Blood” - Slayer
  • “Reptillia” - The Strokes
  • “Paranoid” - Black Sabbath
  • “Cities on Flame” - Blue Oyster Cult
  • “Mississippi Queen” - Mountain

I’m psyched about the Queens of the Stone Age song, but I’m probably the only one. I’m not a fan of the other song choices, but I’m sure some other good songs will be revealed soon. Activision says that there will be ” fresh downloadable content will be offered on multiple platforms,” but I wonder if the Wii is included as one of those platforms.

So who’s ready to rock? I guess I am…

Full press release after the break.

I love Sabbath, Maiden and Raining Blood is my favourite Slayer song (infact one of the few Slayer songs I like), however… the lack of Metallica and absence of Megadeth in this version of guitar hero is really disappointing for me.

I’m a HUGE fan of Metallica, hope it’s not too long before we get Rock Band for the Wii, if it comes at all.

Oh, Raining Blood. I love when Slayer is a part of anything. Remember that time when Raining Blood was part of the Vice City soundtrack? Good times. GOOD times.

In all honesty, the set list is good. The “lack” of Metallica and Megadeath is not a bad thing at all. Adding songs that most people don’t know is really cool, I think. It gives the world a chance to listen to something they just might not ever hear outside this game (sad, I know, but you know it’s true).

I applaud this list. Lets stop focusing so much on the more popular hard rock bands and lets give the nobody’s a chance.

I’ll be even more impressed the day they add Stryper or Living Colour. Now THAT would be awesome! :-D
