Smash Bros. site updates with Ike

Great way to start the month. It was pretty likely that if Sakurai added a new Fire Emblem character to Brawl, it would be Ike. The series has grown tremendously in popularity since the series went global with the seventh game in the series. Ike has since been in two of those games (the second of which will hit North America in early November), and was the first Fire Emblem lord to be realized in 3D outside of Super Smash Bros. Melee.
Ike began Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance as the son of the commander of a band of mercenaries. Since that first chapter, Ike came into his own as the powerful successor to his father’s role. He successfully saved a continent from dictatorship and destruction while uniting the same continent against a history of racism.
Ike can single-handedly wield a two-handed legendary sword named Ragnell, the only weapon capable of penetrating the blessed armor of the Black Knight. As if his fighting stats aren’t high enough, his Aether special attack brings a deadly move to the latest entry into the Super Smash Bros. series.

FANTASTIC update! This is really exciting, and it also paves the way for some other characters to be acknowledged from different series.
Rock on, Nintendo! I’ll just sit back and wait for Poo (from Earthbound) to be a playable character. Ahh… wouldn’t THAT be a treat?? :-D
I’m guessing this means that that Roy and Marth will be absent.
No. Someone already said something about, and I just forgot who and when. But someone Nintendo-rep said that Fire Emblem would still have a couple representatives, although [Roy or Marth] would not be returning.
I can’t remember which one, but they did mention somewhere that only one of the prior two were returning.
