Rumor: Donkey Kong 64 heading to DS?
You know what the virtual console could use during this awful summer lull (Mario Strikers Charged aside)? I’ll give you a hint, it’s not another TurboGrafx16 game. I don’t know about you, but I could really go for a huge platform game for the Nintendo 64. Perhaps Donkey Kong 64?
Sounds good to me, but the latest murmurs on NeoGAF suggest that Rare might be working on porting DK 64 to the DS. The rumor comes from a letter in Ngamer, a UK Nintendo magazine, asking if the game will come to the Virtual Console.
While Super Mario 64 fared pretty well on the DS, Donkey Kong 64 is huge. After all, it included the expansion pack when it was originally released on the system back in 1999. If this rumor is indeed true, it will be interesting to see how the game turns out.
