Surprise, surprise: Pokémon tops UK sales charts
Wii and DS titles take over the top 10? Are we in Japan?
In the UK this week, Pokémon Diamond single-handedly kept Activision’s multiplatform Transformers: The Game at #2 for the week, as the first twin of the DS Pokémon series took first place by 217 copies. Pokémon Pearl took the 3rd slot, combining to become the second fastest selling Pokémon game ever in the UK, trailing on Pokémon Yellow.
The rest of the top ten list is made up of mostly Wii or DS exclusives including both Brain Training games, with four multiplatform titles (also on Wii and DS) completing the list.
- Pokémon Diamond (DS)
- Transformers: The Game (Wii, PS3, 360, PS2, DS, PSP, PC)
- Pokémon Pearl (DS)
- Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Wii, PS3, 360, PS2, DS, PSP, PC)
- Big Brain Academy for Wii (Wii)
- More Brain Training from Dr Kawashima (DS)
- Wii Play (Wii)
- Shrek the Third (Wii, PS3, 360, DS, PSP, PC)
- Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training (DS)
- Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 (Wii, PS3, 360, PS2, DS, PSP, PC)

I love how Pokemon is STILL beating out Harry Potter, a game released on about a bajillion consoles.
Anyone else notice that all top 10 games are available for a Nintendo system?
