Kaplan’s, Llewelyn’s job positions open for application
When we found out that an expectedly large number of Nintendo of America employees affected by the relocation of the company’s Sales and Marketing departments would not be making the move and would be leaving the company, we also heard that George Harrison, Perrin Kaplan, and Beth Llewelyn would be leaving the company. The company has dismissed the rumors, saying that nothing is confirmed, and that Nintendo will not discuss the job status of any individuals involved. Since then, Harrison has openly stated that he will be heading to San Francisco with the company and will help the new offices open up activity. Llewelyn has stated that they were still working out the details as of E3, and Kaplan was at E3 though seemed to keep a low profile.
Now, however, GameDaily has noticed that new job listings have gone up for NOA’s VP of Corporate Affairs (Kaplan’s current position) and Sr. Director of Corporate Communications (Llewelyn’s position). Obviously, this brings us ever closer to the possible reality that some of our favorite Nintendo execs who have been with the company since the Super Nintendo days may be leaving.
Of course, there are some loopholes in all of this that can keep Kaplan and Llewelyn fans happy. Kaplan herself has said that she loved working at Nintendo, but if forced to move, she wouldn’t (aligning with current rumors). She did say, though, that if she could take another position at the company that would allow her to stay in Redmond, she would opt to do so. This was long before we heard about the San Francisco and New York City moves however. As for Llewelyn, well, we know she’s a huge Nintendo fan, especially a Zelda fan, so hopefully she wouldn’t mind taking another position in Redmond just to stay with the company.
