Time running out on free Nintendo Power offer
Nintendo Power magazine has been running a promotion for a couple of years now where My Nintendo members who register three or more Nintendo products are entitled to 3 free issues of Nintendo Power. Afterwards, those members are offered a full year subscription at a discounted $12 US ($15 CDN).
This program is going to end after July 31st. Any Three-For-Free registrations on or after August 1st will be voided. No reason is listed for the cancellation of the program, but speculation suggests that it might have to do with Nintendo Power being licensed out to an outside publisher. Then again, it could just be that the promotion wasn’t justifying itself anymore.
Aside from a three-month warranty extension for your Wii, you won’t have any real incentive to register your games come August 1st. With Nintendo Power no longer being an in-house production as of later this year, though, we’d expect Nintendo to give gamers another reason to register products real soon.
