Encore! Classic game music played through Mario Paint

I regret to say I’ve never played Mario Paint, because while we had 2 NESs in our house by then, we didn’t have a Super Nintendo. Actually I hadn’t really got into gaming yet. It wouldn’t be until Sonic Triple Trouble on the Game Gear that I really got into video games.

But for those of you who did have Mario Paint, do you remember the music composer mode? Did you use it? Well, a public school choral/general music teacher from New York (yay Music Ed!) who goes by the name TomBobBlender on YouTube has decided to show us how it’s really done. In fact, TomBob was featured on page 93 of volume 218 of Nintendo Power magazine. You can watch his version of the Green Hill Zone theme from Sonic the Hedgehog above, and head over to his YouTube profile below for even more videos of themes he’s put into Mario Paint from games like Super Mario RPG, Final Fantasy, Mega Man, and more!

I absolutely loved this game! I used the composer every so often... young-uns can't make music... Personally my favorite part of the game was the icon/stamp creator grid thingy.
