Okami on the Wii? Inafune says it’s crossed their minds
In an interview with Game Informer, Capcom’s Keiji Inafune discussed the possibility of Okami on the Wii. It’s definitely been discussed, but porting games isn’t quite that simple.
Game Informer: [In regards to the Okami IP] You’ve been known to remake games for new platforms, like with the Resident Evil Wii edition. The brush technique seems like it would be perfectly suitable for the Wii. Is that something that you’ve thought about?
Inafune: Of course that’s something that I’ve personally thought about, but it’s easier said than done. It’s a cliché, but it’s not just saying, “Okay, let’s port it over here.” There’s technology, controls and then people to make the game, whether it’s scheduling or knowing the hardware you want to take it to. It’s not out of the realm of possibility, but we don’t have any plans for it right now, and nothing to comment on.

They’ll make two different versions of Mega Man Battle Network every year, but can’t assign a group of folks to Wii-itize Okami.
