Jack Thompson wanted Wendy’s to axe Wii promotion

This article is actually quite old, but it found its way onto my screen a week or two ago, and then I realized earlier today that I hadn’t posted it yet. You might still get a laugh.

Apparently, Jack Thompson wanted Wendy’s restaurants to stop promoting the Wii with their new line of Wii themed toys and sweepstakes to win a Wii or hundreds of other cool Wii prizes. In the letter Thompson sent to Wendy’s CEO Kerri Anderson, Wendy’s was asked to cancel the then-upcoming promotion. Due to the upcoming launch of Manhunt 2 on the Wii (which was still in place for July at the time), Thompson deemed the Wii promotion inappropriate for Wendy’s and their promotion’s target audience.

Thompson believes the late Dave Thomas would never have approved a Wii promotion at Wendy’s.
