inXile is currently developing Hei$t for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, a spread that would leave many to assume inXile was just leaving Wii owners out in the cold, which we’ve seen isn’t uncommon. However, when CVG asked why there was no Wii version, Hei$t‘s senior game designer, Sean Patton, responded, “Did we say we aren’t bringing Hei$t to the Wii?”
Apparently, the game’s use of the Unreal Engine is the reason the Wii isn’t getting the game right away, but doesn’t bar the system from getting the game in the future. In fact, things look pretty optimistic. “We are using the Unreal Engine, which currently doesn’t have support for the Wii. As a platform though, we love it and if possible would love to get our game running on Nintendo’s platform,” says Patton.
ComputerAndVideoGames should have a full interview with Patton up soon.
