It looks like some things were left out of previous transcripts of the Miyamoto Q&A from E3 concerning Wii Fit and the Wii Balance Board. Americans in general are larger than Asians, and Nintendo is taking this into consideration when determining the final size of the Balance Board. In fact, they’ve turned Reggie into their American guinea pig!
Will the Balance Board be the same in all regions?
We’re going to launch in Japan first and get feedback and decide if we need to make something that’s American-sized. We may need to super-size! We’ve been testing with Reggie. (laughs) Ideally we’d like to release one size Balance Board worldwide.
Do you find yourself constantly needing super-sized Nintendo controllers or handhelds? I don’t ever find a problem, but then again I’m Asian. We’ll see how Nintendo handles the Balance Board in Giant World (America). Check out 1UP.com’s complete transcript at the link below.
