E3 2007: Disney launching social network over the DS

Disney InteractiveStudios has announced Dgamer, a new and upcoming social network being developed around the Nintendo DS. Starting with the release of the upcoming Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, the ability to use the network will be featured on every Disney game for the DS platform, allowing users to use custom avatars, chat, and look up records. You know, pretty much what we’ve been wanting on Nintendo’s DS and Wii networks this whole time.

While the network is being designed for the Nintendo DS, all of the data on the network can be accessed through user accounts on the Dgamer section of Disney.com. Hopefully they’ll integrate that with the new Disney XD site – I’ll be able to watch behind-the-scenes HSM2 clips while changing avatars in a future game of The Suite Life.
