Given that WiiFit wasn’t given a firm release date at the press conference that saw dates for major releases through December 3rd, it’s no surprise that WiiFit won’t hit US shores this calendar year. Japan’s getting it though.
According to Nintendo of America’s president, Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo is still looking into the cost issues involving the Wii Balance Board. Since the board comes with the WiiFit software, the whole package is expected to be more than your typical $50 game.
Of course, if a Wii remote with all its accelerometers, wireless technology, speakers, and candy coating costs roughly only $11.00 to produce, how much can a wireless, pressure sensitive platform really cost?
