The bumper item from the original Super Smash Bros. game on the Nintendo 64 is back and better than ever. Just like before, you can place the bumper on the stage floor to send anyone who collides with it bouncing around. This time, however, you can set the bumper in mid-air as well, allowing for a mess of pinball-esque possibilities. Or, if you like to think of it this way, you could potentially line the stage with them, like those spinning roulette special stages from the old Sonic games. Anyway…
With the ability to place bumpers in mid air, you could probably even position them to block an opponent’s recovery once they’ve fallen off the stage. One attempt to jump back on, and they’re sent plummeting to their doom. Of course, I just prefer to throw the darn thing.
