When the GameCube launched, one game title really showed off the graphical power of the new system and pushed the limits for a first generation title. Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II by Factor 5 wowed gamers and forecasted a bright future for the GameCube. Whoops.
Now, Factor 5 is supposedly working on a new Wii title. The developer “left” Nintendo (amicably) years ago to develop for other platforms, as Nintendo’s then-unrevealed Revolution console wasn’t in line with the direction they wanted to take their games. The latest IGN Roundtable, however, has Matt Casamassina – who has close relationships with those in Factor 5 – claiming that he’s received an email that Factor 5 is likely working on a new Wii game.
What game could it be? Some speculate that it could be the practically confirmed GameCube version of Pilotwings from Factor 5 that never saw the light of day. Could Factor 5 be bringing it to the Wii? Or might they bring some other title, new or sequel, to the Wii? Then again, they may be working on a game that’s not destined to see the light of day, or maybe they’re not even working on one at all.
