Nintendo’s Press Conference today revealed the next-generation Mario Kart game for the Wii. The game will be released in the first quarter of next year, and will be fully playable online. You’ll be able to race against other Mario Kart owners across the world, and you’ll also be able to play against them in Battle Mode. Most importantly, none of this tag-team, Double Dash stuff.
Reggie also teased that the game will have more players than ever before. By that I think he meant either a larger character selection or more than 8 racers at a time, and probably not more than 4 human players in multiplayer mode. But who knows. Either way, he wouldn’t reveal how many just yet.
I couldn’t think of a better way to avoid the usual first quarter game drought.
