Yeah, we’re back.
Hope you’ve all maintained your sanity during the Lost Fortnight (give or take a couple of days). Did you find something to do during that time? I know we did! Matt’s finally moved into his new apartment, and Becky’s finally moved to the greatest city in the world. While I haven’t been doing any relocating, I’ve been able to use my freed up hobby time to rediscover what I love doing the most – writing my own songs (pop/rock) with the intention of recording them in the future. It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to sit down and write so many songs, and now that I’m starting to build up funds from my other jobs, I’ll finally be able to buy some new recording equipment and produce some quality stuff later this year.
However, some of that hobby time will have to go back to The Tanooki. We’re back up again! We’ve heard stories of our massive downtime actually messing with people’s daily routine, and for that we’re terribly sorry. I’ll try to make it up to all of you by going into overtime-mode over the next week or two, playing catch-up as well as covering some big expo that’s supposedly going on this week. 
I wish I could tell you that we’re in the clear, but it’s likely we’re not. As many of you know, The Tanooki is only half-a-year old, but we’re growing quite fast. Too fast for our own good even – we’re still on what’s called a shared server and allowed to use that server’s resources only to a certain extent. We’re hoping that recent changes will give us a slightly higher threshold in terms of how much traffic we can handle, and hopefully it’ll last us until we can afford what’s called a dedicated server. If not, we have backup plans. Either way, we’ll have to make that switch in the future (hopefully later rather than sooner), and when it happens, we’ll be in the dark again for a short time.
But we’ll worry about all that when the time comes. Since it’s still early in the week, I’ll have to put off posting all the news from June 28 through July 9 until later this week, likely after E3. Rest assured, all the news from those dates will eventually be posted, and they’ll be backdated to the original date the story was supposed to be posted on. It’ll give you a little more to read over the weekend in case you missed the news, and it gives us a more complete backlog to reference in the future!
Buckle up! I’ll dive right back in with the Smash Bros. update tonight, and maybe a few other stories before I go to bed earlier than normal – I just spent six hours prepping to re-launch this site with all pages, pictures, and even the forums being operational. Once I wake up in the morning, it’ll be full steam ahead here at The Tanooki! It’s great to be back!
