Internet Comedy Group Teams With Popular Game Blog For Awesome Wii Party

SANTA MONICA, CA – Overtime, the comedy troupe behind the hit video series “Mario In MySpace,” and Siliconera, the blog with the latest and greatest info on Japanese import games, are teaming up to throw a Nintendo Wii party and comedy show at the Westside Eclectic Theater in Santa Monica this Friday (June 22nd).

First at 9 pm, Overtime will perform a half-hour comedy show featuring Nintendo cartoons and world-premiere video shorts. Then at 9:30, they’re turning the Eclectic’s big screen into a Wii-lover’s paradise, where party-goers can play awesome American Wii games, retro games, and Japanese import games making their USA debuts! There will also be free food and plenty of fun.

“Combining things often leads to trouble,” says Geoffrey Golden, Overtime writer and co-founder. “However, we’re taking a chance and combining a comedy show with a gigantic party where anyone can play Nintendo Wii on a humongous screen. Then we’re gonna combine that with free food. It’s a gamble, but no one thought peanut butter and jelly would work out, and I ate that kind of sandwich this afternoon.”

Overtime is updating their website with hilarious viral shorts, like “Lack Of Social Awareness Mega Man” and “The Legend of Zelda’s Relationships,” every Monday morning. The troupe is bringing brand new videos to this half-hour sketch comedy show, which they’ll follow with a video game party! Games will include Wii Sports, Super Monkey Ball, Street Fighter II, Mario Kart 64, and rare Japanese Wii games courtesy of Siliconera, including Bleach Wii: Hakujin Kirameku Rondo, Naruto Shippuden: Geiktou Ninja Taisen EX, and more!

Tickets are $5. The Westside Eclectic is located at 1323-A 3rd St. Promenade, in the alley between 3rd and 4th St one block north of Santa Monica Blvd.
