Nintendo rumored to be licensing games for the iPhone
NoHeat is reporting that Nintendo has decided to license some of their game properties for release on the iPhone. Several games priced at $29.00 are said to be appearing in the iTunes stores in a few months.
The games are supposed to be controlled using the iPhone’s touch screen – which is pretty much all it has. As to whether this potential deal would harm DS sales at all, NoHeat says their sources say no. Because the games would be exclusive and because the iPhone is targeted at a different audience, the thought is that Nintendo’s DS hardware and software sales would not be affected.
Keep in mind this a rumor with no source beyond NoHeat. I honestly don’t see this happening anytime soon for many reasons, but who knows.
