Paul Jackson, director of the Entertainment & Leisure Software Publishers Association (ELSPA), praised the BBFC’s final decision to ban Rockstar’s controversial Manhunt 2 video game for the Wii and PS2. Jackson claims that the move demonstrates the effectiveness of the UK’s rating and evaluation system; that the system works.

“The games industry is a creative phenomenon that produces all kinds of games across all kinds of genres that appeal to all kinds of people across the country, young and old, male and female. The important thing to know is that all games are rated according to age suitability, with over 70 per cent of games being available to all ages over three years.”

Rockstar still has the option to appeal the ban – the last game ban by the BBFC, 1997′s Carmageddon, was lifted by the rating panel following an appeal.

Just throw an M+ rating on it and allow it to be released.

I’m sure there’s nothing in there that you don’t see on everyday TV or Movies.
