In May 2006, when Nintendo stole the show at E3, a new IP called Project H.A.M.M.E.R. was revealed to the world. It’s been well over a year, and we haven’t gotten anything new on the game since (aside from adding E3 screens to the Wii’s website prior to launch). The game was to be published by Nintendo and remains on their official release list as “TBA.”
Now, however, sources close to IGN claim that Nintendo has terminated the project in favor of having the development team work on more games for the Blue Ocean; i.e., the expanded market. If true, this rumor would be in line with another report claiming that Nintendo was reworking several of its games to make them more accessible to the mainstream gamers.
Hopefully this rumor gets ironed out soon – maybe once Nintendo has revealed everything at E3.
