VG Chartz takes in confirmed but scattered sales reports from retailers around around the world and compiles them into total sales estimates. Since it’s based on actual collected data rather than a constantly calculated formula/algorithm, it’s about as accurate as you’re going to get for sales info – aside from official reports.
The most recent update shows that Nintendo’s new Wii console has surpassed yet another million mark, topping 8 million units in under 7 months. Not a bad start. Not bad at all.
