Nintendo employees being affected by Nintendo of America’s partial relocation to New York and San Francisco were required to decide by June 1 whether or not they would move with the company or stay behind and leave Nintendo. Sources are saying that 90% of these employees have decided that Washington will remain their home and have left the company.
According to the report, the list of employees leaving Nintendo includes three figureheads that have become synonymous with Nintendo of America. Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Affairs Perrin Kaplan, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communication George Harrison, and Senior Director of Public Relations Beth Llewelyn have reportedly decided to part with Nintendo after having served with the company since 1992. They are expected to remain with the company until after the E3 Expo ending July 13.
Nintendo has yet to make an official announcement on this matter, though it is very likely that the reports are accurate. These three have become Nintendo celebrities among fans, and it will be very hard to see them go. Here’s hoping they find success in the future!
