Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition not censored outside Japan

After many rumors went around the internet following the Japanese release of Biohazard 4: Wii Edition, many were worried about the game’s apparent censorship. The game is indeed censored in Japan; a significant amount of blood and gore had been removed, headshots no longer meant an instant kill, and arms could not be blown off. However, this has always been the case in Japan, and will not be the case anywhere else. Destructoid contacted Capcom for an official word.

RE 4 Wii Edition content in Japan is based on their previous releases, the US version content will be similar to previous releases here (not talking about any of the Wii Edition functions with the controls of course, just about gameplay content).

Those of you who didn’t want anything removed from the game (I don’t know, maybe you felt you needed to prove your manliness), don’t worry. It’s all still there. Thanks to Hooya for the heads up on the situation.

oh yeah, sorry, I didn't read all your comments Christian....

Didn't I say this in the old posting about this?

I don't watch much anime, so that doesn't bother me much.
  • It's kind of funny... Whenever they released some god-forsaken, ultra violent anime from japan, it gets censored to high hell when it comes to America... Yet how does a game like Resident Evil 4 become censored in JAPAN?... This world of ours... nuts.
