While Reggie has put our hearts and mind at ease in the US by reaffirming a 2007 release date for the Wii’s Big Three (plus Phantom Hourglass on the DS), Nintendo Australia was unable to do the same for Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl in an overview of the year’s games with GameArena’s Stephen Farrelly. After running through many of the major releases for Australia for the latter half of the year, Nintendo Australia’s PR guy, Vispi Bhopti, could not confirm a timeframe for Galaxy or Brawl.
This does not mean that both or either game has been delayed to 2008 for Australia – at least, not necessarily. As usual, Nintendo of Australia won’t get a release date for the game nor a green light to reveal it until plans are all set for Japan and North America, and until then Australia will have to wait in limbo. However, Farrelly is keeping his expectations low and predicting that one of the two games will not see a release Down Under until after New Year’s.
