According to IGN’s Wii podcast this week, Matt Casamassina and Mark Bozon (who do indeed have a ton of inside connections) speculate about Nintendo’s plans for the Wii this holiday season. While its pretty obvious that Nintendo doesn’t need any kind of price drop in the foreseeable future since people are buying them up at list price and even higher than list price, Matt expects to see Nintendo release a black Wii in time for the holidays.
Do you think that makes sense? Nintendo’s having trouble keeping up with demand as it is with a single color. If they’re going have shortage problems throughout the year, I don’t see adding another color as beneficial at this point. Do you expect new colors this year, or do you think we’ll have to wait for Nintendo to quench those supply problems?
