Eternal Darkness sequel coming…sometime

Word is that Denis Dyack, currently working on Too Human for the Xbox 360, has posted a reassurance on his blog that a sequel to the GameCube’s amazing psychological thriller game, Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem, is on the way. However, he really has no idea when it will come out.

I’m pretty sure most of us are more interested in which console it would come out for. Silicon Knights was a former “second party” for Nintendo by choice, but parted ways amicably when the two companies realized they wanted to take games in different directions prior to the Revolution’s unveiling. They aren’t really tied to Microsoft’s console, but it’d be interesting to see which system they would make an Eternal Darkness sequel for – the better selling, more interactive console, or the one with the more realistic graphics, both of which could play huge roles in the game. It’s also probably complicated in the legal department as well – Nintendo published the first game, and publishers get a whole lot of the rights.

As CinemaBlend very thoroughly points out at the link below, Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem was an incredibly drawing and intense game, and we’d very much like a sequel.
