The latest Nintendo Power apparently confirms the Battalion Wars sequel (still waiting for a true Wars game on the Wii, Intelligent Systems…) for a September 24th release date. The recent string of Nintendo press releases had revealed a September release, but it’s always nice to have a date…

…except that one. While theoretically, the fact that Halo 3 and Battalion Wars 2 are on separate consoles shouldn’t affect sales one way or another, releasing Battalion Wars 2 the day before Halo 3 amidst Microsoft’s expected blitz media campaign doesn’t seem like a good thing for BWii. Battalion Wars was a good game and I’m sure this game will be just as great. However, the mass public isn’t going to notice it against the media coverage a game already topping 4 million pre-orders will receive.
