While most of the information from Nintendo’s Media Summit today was supposed to be under embargo, it seems the details of Nintendo president Reggie Fils-Aime’s speech were leaked by several websites. With no way to control the outbreak, Nintendo lifted that specific embargo, and IGN Wii now has a full transcript of the speech online for you to read. Most of it talks about the usual, how Nintendo is succeeding in reaching its goals and providing the stats to back it up. What seems to be of interest to most people, however, is the following:

So let me take a final minute to talk a little bit more about the core. By some people’s definition, the last time Nintendo published a true core game was GoldenEye. But in our minds Mario, Zelda and Smash are also core games and that’s because you can’t find a core gamer who can say that they’ve never played those games. And later on this year you’ll be playing Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.

Head on over to IGN if you wish to read the few pages of the transcribed speech they have up.

    So…what’s in store for 2008?

Seriously, I almost wish that either Brawl or Galaxy was pushed into 2008 for the sake of everybody’s bank account/jobs/school/relationships (minus mine of course, my girlfriend LOVES to play games with me- cause she is amazing like that)

At least some of us can write a few of these games off as holiday gifts from people…

Well stuff like Animal Crossing Wii and the Kirby game were planned for 08 last I heard. So there looks to be a couple good ones right off the bat.
