Back in the day, Final Fantasy had its origins on Nintendo consoles before the time came for the series to make the exclusive jump to a rival camp. Then in the last few years, we’ve seen Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (GC), Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (GBA), Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls (GBA), Final Fantasy IV (GBA), Final Fantasy III (DS), Final Fantasy V (GBA), Final Fantasy VI (GBA), and Chocobo Tales (DS); forgive me if I happened to forget one. On the horizon, we have Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates (DS), Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings (DS), Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers (Wii), Final Fantasy Tactics A2 (DS), Final Fantasy IV (DS), and a new Chocobo’s Dungeon game (Wii). And those are just the Final Fantasy games coming from Square Enix.
Yeah, I think it’s safe to say Square Enix and Nintendo are on great terms again.
1UP.com sat down with the teams behind four of those upcoming games (both Crystal Chronicles games, Revenant Wings, and Tactics A2) at a roundtable discussion during the recent Square Enix party in Japan. They discussed several detailed aspects of all the games in question, spanning topics too specific for me to sum up in a short post. Head on over to read their excerpted parts of the roundtable discussion (essentially, just the 1UP.com questions).
