It seems that some cloning glitch has been found in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. Several GameFAQs members are still working out the details, including the discoverer Nathan_Winters. While it seems a bit complicated at the moment, it’s good to be warned early that some Pokémon you may be trading for in the future may be clones.

While Pokémon: The First Movie proved that “the circumstances of one’s birth are irrelevant,” and that “it is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are,” there exists the possibility that you may no longer have an “original” Dialga or Palkia, if you traded for it. While there are those that argue cloned Pokémon are legit due to an exploitation of a game glitch, the fact is that they were created by a glitch. At this point in time, you can’t have 100% certainty that a trade involving a cloned Pokémon won’t negatively affect your game.

Just a heads up. It’s begun.
