NGamer has some new information on Sega’s new NiGHTS: Journey into Dreams game for the Wii. While the game is expected to take full advantage of the Wii’s innovative remote control scheme, Sega doesn’t want to alienate those taking a little bit longer to get used to the Wii remote and will be implementing a method of playing the game in a more traditional manner. It won’t be the default control scheme, but it will be available. Hopefully the Wii remote control will be amazing, though, as it appears Sega’s goal with this game to bring the entire family, whether anyone has played the original game before or not, into the living room together to play.
In addition, several team members working on Journey into Dreams were on the original development team for NiGHTS into Dreams. This should ease those worried that the game won’t be true to the original or live up to NiGHTS’ standards. Even some old features may make their way into the new game. Speculation suggests that the A-life creatures from the first game may come back, as it’s been confirmed that the new game will use the WiiConnect24 feature somehow.
