Pokémon release date broken by local retailers

As usual, some of the smaller, local stores that don’t know any better are breaking release dates. While Pokémon Diamond or Pearl won’t be in many of our hands until Sunday, some people were lucky enough to pick up the game today from shops in their own hometown. One forum member over at Destructoid came across both version at his local game store today and casually picked up Pokémon Pearl, knowing very well it was breaking the release date. Maybe if you’re lucky, some small retailers near you are doing the same.

I want Pokemon as much as the next person, but shouldn’t someone have the common decency to tell those smaller retailers that the release date isn’t for another few days?

Hell, you could even do it after you purchase it and secure your copy in the car. But there’s huge fines involved if they get found selling a game before the release, and that might mean death for a small, local retailer.

I wonder if the Wi-Fi network is up… I mean it’s been out in Japan for a while…

Although if you only want to play guys from the US I’m sure it’ll be a much scarcer picking. :)

PS: I want Pearl so bad. >.
