In what is more a reassurance than news, RedOctane’s Kai Huang revealed to IGN that Guitar Hero III for the Wii will feature a guitar controller and will play similarly to how Guitar Hero has been played in the past. While the development team is certainly looking for innovative ways to throw the Wii remote into the mix, all the bare-bones will still be there – the guitar controller, online play, and downloadable music. Good to know we won’t be getting the short end of development. If anything, the Wii version of Guitar Hero III seems to be getting everything the PS2, 360, and PS3 versions will be getting and possibly more if they can include the Wii remote.
I’ll definitely be picking this game up, but seeing as I have no problem playing the actual Crossroads solo on my Strat or SG, it’ll take a lot of convincing to get me off the real guitar and into the video game. It’s not like the game saves me the convenience of going to a remote venue, like WiiSports Bowling does.
