Nintendo doing well in the UK

Nintendo says Easter shopping helped them out last week, as their Wii console took the top spot among competitors in sales.

Despite the ongoing shortages in Wii availability and the fact that the PlayStation 3 launched a mere 3 weeks ago to the UK in abundant supply on shelves, the Wii managed to move 25,000 units last week, compared to 17,000 PlayStation 3 units and 11,000 Xbox 360 consoles.

Not even the launch of a rival system seems to be slowing down the Wii, which enjoyed its third best week since launch in the UK with last week’s sales numbers. Nintendo shipped a slightly larger supply for Easter week, which served as a catalyst to sales. Nintendo will continue to ship consistent amounts of their console in the coming weeks, and are doing everything they can to satisfy demand.
