Online promises for Brawl have some worried

Stephen Munn over at Aeropause has written up a quick blurb pointing out that when Iwata first promised a new Super Smash Bros. game, it was before the game was even in production. More importantly, he promised the game would be online. The game’s head honcho, Sakurai, has gone on record to say that since entering production, Brawl has had a few issues in trying to get online. They’re definitely trying to deliver on this aspect, but the truth is it’s still up in the air.

I wasn’t expecting the next Smash Bros. to be online. If it ends up forgoing online play, I’ll be disappointed only because it was promised after being announced. Do I think Brawl will be a bad game because of the lack of online play? Of course not.
