Nintendo had previously raised their profit forecasts ending March 31st from a prediction of 740 billion yen. Nintendo predicted totals around 900 billion yen, while several analysts polled by Reuters predicted closer to 929 billion yen. Nintendo has revealed the totals to be closer to 966 billion yen, roughly $8.1 billion USD.

In addition, the company had expected a 10 billion yen loss from foreign exchanges, but instead revealed they ended up gaining a 20 billion yen ($168 million) profit.
