A recent flyer from earlier in the week reveals that Wal-Mart retailers throughout Canada have dropped the price of the Wii to $248.83 CAD, roughly $215.65 USD. While Nintendo has not dropped the price of the Wii in Canada (other retailers still have it listed for about $279 CAD), Wal-Mart’s $248.83 price tag on the Wii is labelled as an “Every Day” price, so it may last longer than a typical sale or special offer.
There is no indication as to the reason for the price drop, other than to drive customers towards Wal-Mart over the competition. I wonder how well it’ll work, though, as reports say Wii are just as hard to come by in Canada as they are everywhere else.
