Look ma! No wires!

Cubed3 has noticed a small picture in the latest Nintendo Power issue in which a man is holding the Wii remote and Nunchuk, but there seems to be no evidence of a wire or cable connecting the two.

Cubed3 does intend throw wood onto the fire, what with all the rumors floating around of a future, wireless Nunchuk attachment. They do offer the possible explanation, however, that it may just be a PR shot, and the guy just forgot to connect the wires (which would be hidden behind his arm). I don’t know, a dangling wire is sort of hard to miss.

If you look closely, it does look like there is something protruding out from the Wii remote’s port, and it doesn’t look like the Nunchuk plug was simply cut or anything like that. Could it be a wireless receiver?

In the same magazine 3 pages later (pg. 56), the same guy is shown with a Wiimote and nunchuck with a cord.

derrr...i meant "the wii shouldn't have any wires."

i've wondering why nintendo made the unnecessary move to wired for the nunchuk from the first time i plugged it in. if i can have a bluetooth headset for my cell phone, i should be able to have a bluetooth nunchuk. if my bluetooth headset can be rechargeable, so could my nunchuk.

the wii shouldn't have any wireless. that's what the bluetooth is for.

The thing sticking out of the remote is the wrist strap.

It's just a PR shot. Maybe they had to keep the wires disconnected to get the spacing of the guys arms that they wanted for the shot, I dunno.

At any rate, it is not a foreshadowing of a wireless chuck.

I don't think I'd want a wireless chuck anyway, as that's just two more batteries to deal with (and they'd have to make it bigger to accommodate those batteries).
