Go green with the Wii!
The Wii in itself is already very cost- and energy-efficient. Some guys over at Tom’s Hardware took it another step further by powering their entire portable Wii setup with a solar-powered battery.
Using a solar panel, a couple of crafty Wii fans were able to hook a battery up to an HD monitor, speakers, and the Wii to produce an on-wheels Wii station that can provide 6-8 hours of Wii fun on a full charge. The entire project cost them about £625 to make, but they’ll never need to worry about the Wii or the HD TV adding to their electric bill ever again.
The setup is also very simple to make, provided you have the right materials, which the guys have outlined on their website. Can we say awesome?
