I’d summarize it all for you, unfortunately my Final Fantasy experience spans less than two complete games. I do have every intention of playing FFXII once I get a Slim in my dorm room, and I’ll buy Revenant Wings once I finish FFXII. But rather than embarass myself further by trying to be all expert-y about something I don’t really know much about, I’ll give you an article excerpt and link. Fair enough?
A lot of things are different about summons in Revenant Wings, but some of it starts with the art. For instance, Salamander was changed from a lizard to a wild boar because the designers were asked for a specific shape so the graphics would come out well, and not because it’s the Year of the Boar. “That’s just a coincidence,” laughed Itou. He also mentioned Ifrit, and how “Once we had him designed, we drew Jin. The link between those two is Iberis. So, the red ‘x’ mark of Iberis’ face isn’t on Jin, but when he becomes Ifrit, it spreads out over his whole body.” But what’s all this about three different guys?
