NiGHTS coming to the Wii?

The Official Nintendo Magazine (ONM) ran a teaser page in their latest issue with the following description: “World Exclusive! Step back in time as a classic game makes a long overdue return.” In addition to the text, a very ambiguous constellation of stars graced a mystic, nighttime background. What could the new game be?

Someone on the internet recognized the outline of stars and magical aura of the scene, and decided to superimpose a certain picture onto the magazine teaser ad. Take a look at the before and after:

Is NiGHTS coming to the Wii? The magazine won’t run an exclusive story on this game until next month, but that picture on the right is extremely convincing. Even if it does turn out to be NiGHTS, will it be a true sequel to the original, complete with next-gen graphics and Wii remote controls? Or will it be a Virtual Console appearance of the original Saturn game? Or both, with Sega/Prope doing some huge NiGHTS blowout or something?

    God this blog is so good. That is an AMAZING find if true. I remember BEGGING my parents for NiGHTS. I remember playing it for at least an hour almost every night before bed. The game is soothing.
