This is a minor misunderstanding, but the fact that Popular Science incorrectly explains how a piece of technology such as the Wii remote works makes it a little more significant. The remote doesn’t use accelerometers at all to determine where, relative to the sensor bar, the Wii remote is pointing. However, that’s how Popular Science explains it!
