It appears that Nintendo has not yet supplied third parties with the necessary tools to implement user-created Miis into their games. We’ve seen Nintendo incorporate all our fun little avatars into games like WiiSports and WiiPlay, but EA’s Eric Chartrand’s statements indicate that third parties couldn’t do the same even if they wanted to.
Of course, I’m inclined to believe Nintendo will provide the tools necessary to third party developers in due time. The question remains, however, as to what’s taking Nintendo so long with third parties, and whether or not they realize they’re holding out on a hip new fad that even their competitors seem to want in on.
