Nintendo of Europe says Nintendo of America lies!

Perrin Kaplan’s recent interview briefly touched on GameCube production, and while it wasn’t the focus of the question, Kaplan claimed the GameCube was no longer in production in making the point that the inventory they have left was still available for new customers in the market to pick up as a cheap, beginning game system.

“I can confirm that globally, Nintendo is still continuing production of GameCube hardware and GameCube software,” said one Nintendo of Europe spokesperson following Kaplan’s interview. Now, Kaplan’s interview response obviously isn’t as thought out as, say, an official press release, so not all her statements should be held as undeniably true. But she’s also been known to slip out details that she wasn’t supposed to, that turn out to be true later on (such as the Revolution being 2-3 times more powerful than the GameCube). But who are we to believe in this situation?
