Capcom and former Okami team working on Wii

Charles Bellfield, VP of Marketing for Capcom, USA recently sat down Gamasutra for a hefty interview. In it, he reiterated the fact that Keiji Inafune was working on a game for the Wii, and revealed that former Clover team members are working with him on this new game. He would not reveal any details, however, but mentioned that even though Capcom has not announced any plans for the Wii officially, the company has plenty of them as they are committed to supporting all platforms. Bellfield makes the statement that it’s foolish for a game developer to ignore any of the gaming platforms and punishing buyers of one system or another for doing so.

Bellfield also admits that he was personally surprised by the success of the Phoenix Wright series. The series was a new game on a new type of console, but the DS has redefined gaming for gamers not only in Japan but in the Western world as well.
