How Next-Gen is the Wii?

Here we have a blogger that takes the time to criticize nearly every point about the Wii…except it’s all justified. Sure, maybe it might be a little overreaction in some cases, but that happens when there are this many things you have to get off your chest.

The virtual console is some major BS. If you are going to just use old ROMs and add nothing new, and occasionally even take something away, then why only release 4 a week? They are all done, they all add nothing new and require little to no work on your part to just map new controls to, so why not release them all at the beginning and if you are going to make me pay for something I’ve already bought multiple times, at least let me buy it.

Head on over to read the rest. Do I agree with it? Mostly, no. But then again, I’m an extremely patient person, so I know for a fact and can keep telling myself better things are on the way. Also, I have no problem with the Wii interface, control setup, packaging, spread out VC launches, or the lack of DVD playback. Still, different people prefer different things, so while the article may seem like some fanboy rant, it’s quite justified on all points. To be fair, the author recognizes the Wii’s enormous potential; he just sees it as frustrating that Nintendo is taking their time.
