When we reported the rumors floating around about Okami, a reliable, but non-Capcom source claimed Capcom was seriously considering a Wii version of Okami. Capcom merely responded that while they may or may not be looking at a potential Wii version, there are no official plans.
Well, Capcom took it one step further – unfortunately in the opposite direction to what many of us were hoping for. According to a Capcom representative,
“Officially we have no plans for Okami on Wii at this time. Research and development are always looking at possibilities but given Clover is now closed for business, I think it highly unlikely a Wii version would be possible.â€
I do recall, however, as I received the morning’s news that most of the Clover team has gone and formed a new studio called Seeds. It was merely in browsing, but I do not remember seeing if Seeds has any legal ties to Capcom.
