Zelda falls short at AIAS awards

Unfortunately, GameTrailer’s choice for Game of the Year and Matt Casamassina’s choice for the greatest Zelda game ever created didn’t hold up too well at the AIAS awards, where it had previously been nominated for six awards. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess took home a single award from the AIAS, that being Outstanding Achievement, Story and Character Development.

On the bright side, WiiSports picked up three awards. Here’s a full list of Nintendo winners:

Outstanding Achievement, Game Design
WiiSports

Outstanding Achievement, Game Play Engineering
WiiSports

Outstanding Achievement, Story and Character Development
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Outstanding Innovation in Gaming
WiiSports

Game of the Year, Handheld
Brain Age

Maybe the new Zelda game being designed specifically for the Wii will bring the AIAS Game of the Year award back to the Zelda series.
